Intro & Benefits
HCL Jigsaw, a comprehensive assessment program, features a short series of problem-solving, critical thinking, and logical reasoning tests to define students’ skill sets when facing real-world problems.

The program is a part of HCL’s interactive and talent search initiative of HCL Program Solver comprising three major rounds into the course journey. The student will be assessed on various attributes with a joint facet of problem-solving and logical thinking.

The program aspires to hunt out the best minds among the elementary 6, 7 and 8-grade students and help them develop their skill sets to ensure their ultimate human potential.

The entire program can be divided into three significant rounds including; an Olympiad, Problem Solving Exercise and the Grand Finale.

The program is designed over a futuristic vision for potential human development under HCL – Innovation Lab’s direct influence. HCL empowers students to identify, understand and develop their primary skill sets resulting in high-end problem solving and logical reasoning.

Nurturing such bright minds to make them more confident and visualize the value within an early stage will improve the child’s learning capabilities.

Registration Process
The registration process for HCL Jigsaw is quite simple. The first round of registration for schools and students will start from 15th January 2021 and end on 28th February 2021.

During that time, students will be required to register via HackerEarth’s registration portal. Students will be provided with the practice materials and solved examples once after the registration is done.

Assessment Parameters
The online assessment will be scrutinized based on ten significant parameters under three primary attributes;
Investigation, Inquiring and Designing/Research and Information Literacy
Defining a Problem: Defining a problem requires asking a few critical questions such as why? To what extent? And How? The plan here is to narrow down the broader aspect of the problem for more focused investigation.
Formulating Investigation Action Plan: Students will be credited highly for an adequately prepared investigation action plan, indicating how and where we can find the information and identify information gaps, selecting the aptest method for collecting information.
Collecting and Organizing Information: This parameter will make the jury understand how the student can sort all the gathered information; to make it more useful.
Ethical Use of Information: Students will also be assessed by their understanding of crediting information or the source of their data to guide the ethical extraction and use of data.
Communication Process
Structure and Coherence: This parameter will indicate the student’s ability to arrange and note down all the information in an orderly fashion.
Audience, Context and Purpose: This parameter indicates the skillset of a student’s understanding of the information context and segregating them as per their defined purpose.

Thinking Critically
Accurate Information Interpretation: This criterion will illustrate the students’ ability to interpret the information accurately and extract the main idea, which is implied while solving problems.
Synthesizing of Information & Drawing Conclusions: The student will be evaluated on their information choices and assessed why they had implied the information and what made them think so.
Systems Thinking & Problem Solving: This evaluation criterion requires the student to identify the structure and points to modify the existing system to make it better. Students will be assessed on their ability to decide further and claim the right solution for the problem.
Evaluating Claims & Justifications: Marking the final assessment parameter, the jury will assess the student’s claim with defining validation of the request, strengths and weaknesses of the argument.
